De eerste keer dat ik deze Nederlandse Poffertjes probeerde was in Amsterdam en ik kon niet…

The first time I tried these Dutch Poffertjes was in Amsterdam and I couldn’t believe I’d never had them before. So cute & puffy & fun.
We ate them with butter, golden syrup AND powdered sugar because it just seemed like the right thing to do. 😉
You do need a special pan for these, but what else do we have to do these days but buy things on Amazon to support our carb habits???

Recept-achtig:

Combine 2 tsp sugar, 2 1/4 tsp yeast and 1 2/3 cup warm milk in a bowl and let sit for a few minutes.

Add in: 1 1/4 cup flour, 3/4 cup buckwheat flour, a pinch of salt & 2 eggs. Mix until combined and smooth.

Cover and set aside for about an hour.

Drop tablespoonfuls into the divots of a poffertjes pan and cook, using skewers to flip halfway through.
